Sweet Calendar with CD case holder

This is the perfect calendar for anyones desk!
Scrapping an entire huge calendar can be overwhelming, we know! But we still want to have a personalized calendar for our desks or to make one for Mom, Grandma, Bestest Friends, right?
SOLUTION: Mini Calendar with CD case holder!
We've done the hard work for you. We've already sized and formated 2010 for you. Just email us at info@thingamabobsanddoodads.com for the template (PDF format) or create your own in your favorite word/design program. We used Microsoft Office Publisher for ours. Size your document to 4 3/4 inches x 5 inches. We printed our photos at 2x3 inches for this project.

BONUS:
We also made our own glimmer mist for this project!
Here's how we did it:
MATERIALS:
Pearl Ex Powder - we used Stampin Up in Aztec Gold
Reinker ink - we used Stampin Up in Marigold Morning & Cranberry Crisp
H2O
Small Spray Bottle

HOW TO:
Fill the spray bottle 3/4 full with water. Tap in desired amount of pearl ex powder. Squirt in desired amount of ink. Shake, Shake, Shake! We didn't measure anything. Just eyeball it and test the finished color until you're happy. We know there are other ways to make the mist and we plan to experiment over the next few weeks. We'll post more about this in the future.
TIP:
To keep everything clean and tidy, spray your project inside a cardboard box. Who are we kidding, do any of us know a clean and tidy scrapper?! We'll we're neither clean nor tidy, but we did use the box and that was a good idea!
Here's are some detailed shots of the glimmer mist pieces we did. It's hard to see in photo's, but trust us, it was both glimmery and pretty!

Have fun & as always -
Happy Scrappin!

Dressing up a Gift Card

We have a great way for you to present your next gift card!

Some people love receiving gifts cards, even if we don't always love giving them. If you're like us, you find picking out a gift is WAY more personal and fun, after all, gift cards can be kind of boring to give. We can help change that! Create this cute gift card holder! We promise you'll have fun making it and feel better about giving a gift card.

Here's how it's done.....

Materials:

PAPER:
1 two sided paper cut to 7 inches x 2 1/2 inches
1 solid coordinating paper cut to 4 inches by 2 3/4 inches
Embellishment pieces in coordinating colors/patterns cut to:
2 1/4 inches by 1 1/4 inches (first layer)
2 inches x 1 inch (second layer)
1 3/4 inches x 3/4 inch (third layer)

RIBBON:
coordinating color cut to 14 inches
(or get creative and use a different style closure - see end of this post for examples)
