Who knew?

Okay, so we are getting to the end of the parade.  Today is the last day of the Creative Chics Parade - and the theme is BEFORE and AFTER.

One of the most talked about BEFORE and AFTER projects that we have done here at T&D is our Toliet Paper Minibook.  It's been featured on a few creative blogs because no one can believe how an old TP roll could make such a cute minibook!

So here it is - The TP Minibook...

BEFORE:

And AFTER:

For instructions on making your own TP minibook click here

Before you know it you will be recycling all your TP rolls to make minibooks!

Speaking of recycling... a friend of ours recently told us about this cool little shop. If you live in the Twin Cities area you may want to check it out. No more feeling guilty about the money you spend on your creative hobby when it's all recycled goods!

PS. You can still enter to win BLOG CANDY!  Post a comment on the posts from this past week and our winners will be picked on Sunday.

Recipe for ADORABLE

Today we thought we would share a fun little project you can make for your favorite kidlet. (It's so dang cute - you might want to make one for yourself too!)

We know a couple of kids that LOVE to help out in the kitchen. One of them even reads cookbooks in their spare time!  So we decided to make the future chef and baker their own special recipe box, recipe card holder, and apron.

Recipe for ADORABLE:

- 1 canvas apron
- 1 tin box (wood or carboard works too!)
- 1 XL clothes pin
- craft paint and sealer
- recipe cards (we found a really cute stamp set)
- coordinating patterned paper
- some cute ribbon and embellies

The rest is up to you! Deisgn and create to your hearts content.  The only recommendation we have is to use a spray on sealer after you paint everything - that way the paint wont run if it gets wet.

And if you are looking for something to fill that box - be sure to check out the Creative Chic Parade. Can you guess what the theme is today - RECIPES!

Oh and there is still time to get some BLOG CANDY! Leave a comment on our post below and you will be entered to win!

Happy Craftin!

The addiction of cute

BRAG ALERT!

Bet you didn't know this...Crystal is a quilter, too. She'll tell you she's not that experienced, or tell you something she thinks is a flaw in her work, but I think she's brilliant! She made my little angel a quilt and my family will treasure it forever! She also made one for a close friend of ours and her little boy. When I asked her why quilting, she said "because fabric is like paper, and I want it all!"

I just had to share this with our creative pals! (not too mention it's today's theme in the parade!)

Fun in the Sun

With the temperature reaching over 90 degrees in our neighborhood, it's no wonder we were drawn to this Sun Splashed patterned paper by We R Memory Keepers.  Here is a sneak peak of the summer project we have been working on. We will be back soon to show you the rest of this minibook and details on how you could get the supplies to make your very own!

We hope you are enjoying your summer and are finding plenty of fun in the sun!

Waste not...

How many times have you found yourself one punched item short because you did not maxamize paper space? I can't tell you how many times I've done this to myself! During a recent project I realized I was wasting valuable paper by not thinking through the layouts of my punches. I joked with Crystal about it and she said she does the same thing, which got me thinking...how many of us are doing this?

It's very simple, take a few extra moments to plan out your punches. By turning my butterfly punch everytime I used it, I gained one extra butterfly per strip of paper. One step further is to cut down your paper to allow exactly how much space you'll need....but that might be getting ahead of ourselves! :)
top strip shows wasted space. turn the punch...problem solved!

Happy Scrapin,

Spring Fling - Paperbag 6x6 Minibook Kit!

Paperbags aren't just for carrying your lunch anymore!
You can make a fun & unique 6x6 paperbag mini album with our new Spring Fling Project Kit!

At the last retreat we attended our paperbag mini albums were quite a hit. We completely sold out of them over the course of a weekend! We can take a hint -- so we designed an all new paperbag minibook kit!
This album is great for displaying all your favorite Spring memories or it could be the perfect gift for the soon-to-be graduate in your life! The Spring Fling Project Kit has everything you need to complete the project - a paperbag mini album, coordinating papers, sticker letters, ribbon, and embellies. (even an exclusive T & D zipper flower!)
Crystal used her kit to show off all of her favorite Spring pics from 2009!
