Thingamabobs and Doodads gals, Kelli and Crystal, are participating in the Walk for Animals on May 1st. We'll be raising moolah for the critters during the months of April and May. $1 from each sale from our store will go to donations for the Animal Humane Society.

Here's a little bit about our pups:

Meet Frankie (Kelli's little girl)

Frankie is 2+ years old.  She is a pure Cocker Spaniel, full of spunk.
She is the center of Kelli and Jeff's life!! (until Baby arrives mid May).

Meet Sage (Crystal's little girl)

Sage is 2+ years old. She is a pure Vizsla, with TONS of energy. She is the center of Crystal and Andy's world!!

Reduce - Reuse - Recycle Part 2

Guess what we used to make this adorable mini book!

Give up?

TP rolls!

We have received a lot of feedback in the last couple days about what in the world we planned to create with those toliet paper rolls.  So what do you do with all those left over  rolls?! You make a mini-books out of them!  We had a lot of fun creating this mini-book.

It's the perfect size to give as a gift and your friends will never guess how you made it! (you will want to tell them though, since it is so cool!) Crystal made this book to show off some of her favorite sailing memories of 2009.

MATERIALS:
3 toliet paper rolls
3 - 5 x 7 inch sheets of paper
 hole punch and/or eyelet setter
ring to bind your book together
a strong adhesive (yep, we used Terrifically Tacky Tape, again!)
eyelets (optional)

HOW TO:
Step 1: fold the toliet paper rolls flat.
We used a bone folder to make a good fold that will keep the rolls flat.

Step 2: wrap a 5 x 7 inch sheet of paper around each roll and use a strong adhesive to hold it in place. You will need to center

Anything to help stay organized is a good thing - especially when it's pretty and recycled!

Reduce - Reuse - Recycle

It seems that here at Thingamabobs & Doodads we have been on a crafty kick of recycling everyday household items into all of our latest projects. We have used paperbags, playing cards, zippers and more - so why not keep with the trend?!

Join us this week for the Reduce - Reuse - Recycle Challenge! We will be showing off our recycled creations all week. We plan to take these items and turn them into something useful and pretty!

We challenge you to do the same! On Friday, we will have a Linky party for you to show off YOUR recycled creations!

Who knew that recycling could be so fun?!

A fun and unique embellishment!

Zipper flowers seem to be all the rage these days. We have seen them on t-shirts, headbands, and of course in scrapbook layouts. So we thought we would try making our very own zipper flowers.

They turned out to be pretty easy to make.
